Mr. Wrestling II was one of my favorites as a kid. His feud with The Masked Superstar was one of the greatest angles ever. Mr Wrestling II lived in Columbus, GA and on the day of his matches at the Municipal Audtitorium where I would see matches, he would walk to the auditorium, full 3 piece suit, wearing his mask, carrying a gym bag with his boots, tights and kids would flock to him and he would ask questions like "Are you behaving for your parents? Are you doing good in school?" and the kids would all answer yes of course and he would hand out tickets to the matches that night. I never got to see him like that, but saw many a match at the smoke filled auditorium and had our favorite seats in the bleachers outside of the heels dressing room. We'd always run over to the babyface locker room if we wanted to slap high fives to our favorites on their way to the ring. No, I never thought wrestling was "real", but man, I was all in back in the early 80's. RIP territory wrasslin'!!!! LONG LIVE GEORGIA CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING!!!!
