"Reveille" - acrylic on salvaged wood assemblage. Vintage inside cigar label adhered to wood. Spray UV block coating. Framed with antique tobacco drying slats from Massachusetts. Gloss finish on frame.

This piece happened completely by chance. The cowboy I painted reminded me of a Union Soldier and that week, I got a bundle of cigar labels I ordered and this one was in there and it clicked. Then I remembered I bought a bundle of slats on FB marketplace during Covid lockdown timez. The idea was born and the slats came full circle. The label is from around 1930's or 40's I believe. It's difficult to research most cigar labels.
